The (Next) Game Hunt

From when I first played Star Trek Online some 11 years ago, gaming has become a big part of my life. It's not the games so much as it is the fellow gamers that have kept me involved.

I'm not a 'great' gamer. I enjoy the hell out of it.  I would love to be 'ranked' in something, but I'm thankful to play well enough to spend some quality time in a lot of games.

I have played about every genre there is. From MMORPG's and MOBA's to CCG, TD, and CO-OP games as well. Sometimes several genre's mixed into one. MMORPG's got me started and showed me that the gaming community in general is pretty damn cool. More recently, card games have been very good to me. In particular, Minion Masters. It's a unique card battler, despite comparisons to 'Clash of Clans', which I don't see.

I've played Minion Masters off and on for about four years. More in the past three. Minion Masters helped me reach Affiliate status on Twitch. And I have made some great friends through MM. Yet, I find myself looking for the next game that is like it.  A game that will scratch the same itch and that won't be easy.  MM is a fast paced card battler, tower defense, deck building, and strategical game rolled into one.

So, I've decided to devote part of my stream to looking for that game. Below is a list of  the games I will be exploring. I thought about it, as far as, which one should I test first or which genre of card battler. I've decided to go backwards, from the latest releases back to the oldest of the games I have chosen. I tried to choose them for their uniqueness, similarities to MM, and how much they interested me.  I will occasionally feature other genre’s on the side that have caught my attention but my main focus will remain MM and possibly one or two of these similar games from below.

I know some of the games, possibly quite a few, may have a very small player base to no player base. That can be for many reasons. From too much competition to a game just not catching on and everything in-between. No different from most games.

No matter what, I will approach each game, even the ‘free’ games, as if it is a new purchase. Following Steam’s rule, you should know within two hours or less if the game is a ‘keeper’ or you want a refund. So, in short, I will play each game for a minimum of two hours. Hopefully, this will allow me to stream at least two games per broadcast.

I'd like to invite you to join me as I explore these games, while I look for the next best ‘fit’. Some light 'back-seating' will be allowed. And please, your feedback is even more important. Speak up, in chat or in DM. I welcome the the opportunity to hear what viewers think, good or bad. Suggestions to other games are also welcome.
